Adam is a high-performance coach and sport scientist with over 17 years’ experience leading multi disciplinary teams at the highest levels of international sport. He served as Head Coach for the New Zealand Weight lifting Team at the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games, as well as the 2010 and 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Throughout his career as a strength and conditioning specialist, Adam has trained multiple Olympic, World, and Commonwealth champions across a wide range of sports, including track and field, rugby union (2019 rugby world cup), sprint kayaking (2020 olympic games), and sailing (2021 america's cup).
Alongside his applied coaching work, Adam is a Senior Research Fellow at AUT University’s Sports Performance Research Institute, where he supervises post graduate research in strength and conditioning and exercise physiology. He also sits on the HYROX Sports Science Advisory Council, contributing evidence-based insights to the sport’s global development.
A committed HYROX athlete himself, Adam competed at the 2025 HYROX World Championships in the Men’s Pro Doubles (40–44) division alongside Dr Dan Plews —bringing lived competitive experience to his coaching philosophy.
